What are the chief differences between 2d ultrasound and 3d ultrasound?

When a woman gets pregnant, the long wait for nine months may seem unbearable. Most parents feel as if they are on the moon when the pregnancy of the woman gets confirmed. But after that, they can do little but to wait for nearly a year before their bundle of joy can be held in the arms. So, the idea of getting a 3d ultrasound is something which is bound to trigger any expecting couple’s imagination and desires. 3d ultrasound can be done from any 3d ultrasound center Texas. The process is safe and does not cause any harm or side effect to the baby or the mother.

The general procedure is similar to 2d ultrasound, but the experience which a couple has is entirely different. Frankly, 2d ultrasound could never quite offer any real view of the baby. It just flashes two-dimensional image of the baby which is not clear and does not even appear realistic. It is exciting nevertheless since that is the closest way a couple could see their baby till now. But now that 3d ultrasound has arrived, the 2d technology is being discarded on an increasing level.

2d ultrasound does not show the features of the baby. It cannot even provide any video of the baby. Truth be told, it was basically a way so that the physicians could better inspect and evaluate the baby’s organs. It was never designed to accord a ‘view’ to the parents. It is another matter that 2d ultrasound became popular with expecting couples since it was the only way through which the couple could establish a physical connection with their child.

But 3d ultrasound is entirely different. It does not flash still images but shows the live video of the baby. Naturally, the view it offers is pretty much incredible and even unimaginable till a few years back. Such ultrasounds are becoming popular in Texas and can be done from any reputed 3d ultrasound center Texas

More and more people are opting for 3d ultrasound these days over 2d ultrasound. 3d ultrasound shows you the baby in its precise position and with such clarity that you can almost feel the baby breathing. It is quite a joy to see your baby changing its facial contortions or trying to stretch its legs or yawn away to glory. These are scenes which can be captured and beamed on the monitor only through 3d ultrasound. They cannot be shown using 2d ultrasound.

One must not forget to state that the greatest benefit of 3d ultrasound is that it has helped the male parents to forge connection with their unborn baby. It is through such an ultrasound that the father can get a reality check and experience the realization that his baby is for the ‘real’ and is about to emerge into the world of light and sunshine.

From the safety context, there is not any difference between 2d and 3d ultrasounds. However, while 2d ultrasound is pretty common and can be performed even by the smallest centers, the new-age concept of 3d ultrasound should only be carried out at a well-known 3dultrasound center Texas.
